The Chennai - Tiruvannamalai electric train will run from Wednesday with 12 coaches. Also an additional electric train has been announced from Avadi to Chennai Central.
Thiruvannamalai, the spiritual city of Tamil Nadu, is visited by devotees from different states and districts. The electric train from Chennai to Vellore is extended to Tiruvannamalai on full moon days. The train was recently announced as a daily train after devotees demanded that it be run as a daily train. As this has received a great response from the passengers, the railway management has approved the operation with 12 coaches from Wednesday.
A press release issued by the Chennai Railway Division in this regard:
The electric train from Chennai Beach to Tiruvannamalai will run daily at 6 pm with 12 coaches from Wednesday. Similarly, the 4 AM electric train from Tiruvannamalai to Chennai Beach will be extended to Tambaram with 12 coaches from Thursday (November 7).
Meanwhile, an additional electric train will run from Avadi to Chennai Central from Wednesday (November 6). It is informed that the train will leave Avadi at 6.10 pm and reach Chennai Central at 6.55 pm.
